Hi people, how's it going? I thought I'd start a thread today with the intent of asking specific questions and generally bouncing ideas off everyone. I've been thinking lately about setting up my own map site, but it would be different from all those around us. For one thing it would only discuss maps, and apart from uploads and downloads that's all it would consist of.
Thing is, I've never done anything concerning web sites. So where do you begin?
What I wouldn't want to do is have the standard design that most sites seem to have. I can picture it being all about screen shots and tempting the browsers out there to take a chance. But more importantly I can see it being all about reviews of the latest kickass design, you know the type of thing.
That's the trouble really, I can picture what I want in my head, but conveying it to those in the know is the real trick isn't it?
